Ipswich manager Paul Jewell believes that his side deserved their point against Blackburn this afternoon.

Ipswich Town manager Paul Jewell has expressed his belief that his side deserved the point they got against Blackburn Rovers this afternoon.

A late Rovers own goal gifted Jewell's side an equaliser as the match finished 1-1, but the 47-year-old manager believes that it was the least that they deserved.

"It was unbelievably hot out there and it wasn't a great game but I think we deserved at least a point. They are a team packed with Premier League and international players and when you go a goal down, you know it's going to be tough but we kept going and we finished the stronger team," Jewell told the club's official website.

"We were disappointed with the goal we conceded. Another set piece and people didn't mark players but I'm pleased with the effort we showed and we did well to get something out of the game.

"We played the ball through the middle a bit too much and when we did get it out wide, perhaps the quality wasn't as good as we would have liked but it was a good ball in for the goal and like I said, we could have won it at the end."

Ipswich will look to build on that point when they take on Watford on Tuesday.
