Ryan Fredericks strike wins it for Millwall

Ryan Fredericks marks his Millwall debut with a winning-goal as the Lions beat Ipswich Town 1-0 in the Championship.

Millwall have beaten Ipswich Town 1-0 at The Den in the Championship this afternoon.

Ryan Fredericks marked his Lions debut with a goal after his cross evaded everyone before nestling into the net five minutes before the break.

Earlier in the half Luke Hyam was stretchered off with a nasty looking knee injury for the Tractor Boys and he was replaced by Jay Tabb.

Daryl Murphy had an attempt for the visitors just before the half-hour mark, but his effort was well saved before Liam Trotter went close for Millwall with a curling effort.

Lee Martin's delivery on 60 minutes evaded everyone and nearly dropped in moments before Scott Malone flashed an effort wide.

Ipswich mounted a late rally, but Millwall survived a nervous finish to take all three points.
