Italy midfielder Marco Verratti has been ruled out of the team's upcoming matches against Croatia and Albania due to an adductor injury.
The 22-year-old was called up to the Azzurri squad last week, but he has been unable to train with his international teammates.
"The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder will return to France to continue physiotherapy on his injured left adductor muscle, which prevented him from training on Monday," said an official statement from the Italian Football Association.
Italy host Croatia in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Sunday before entertaining Albania in a friendly two days later.
