David Beckham has admitted that he has not yet spoken to Stuart Pearce about his chances of being selected to represent Team GB at this summer's Olympics.
The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder, who played a starring role in London's successful bid for the Games, has repeatedly been tipped to be one of the three players over the age of 23 in Pearce's squad for the tournament in July.
Beckham has made no secret of his desire to be involved, however he has no idea whether he will get his wish.
He told talkSport: "I've not spoken to [Pearce]. There's no need to speak to him yet.
"I'll find out at some point whether I'm involved or not and what the team will be.
"It's an exciting time for our country. To have the Olympic Games is special, particularly in that part of London."
The 36-year-old is contracted to Galaxy until 2014.
