Serie A title challengers Lazio could incur a five-point penalty for alleged involvement in match-fixing.
Struggling Genoa are also under investigation as part of the Calcioscommesse scandal that rocked the Italian game in 2011.
Italian magistrates are looking into Lazio's 4-2 win against Genoa in May 2011 as well as their 4-2 victory over Lecce a few weeks later.
According to Football Italia, the magistrates have asked for the case to be extended until the end of the season as they look into the evidence.
That could result in a points deduction, which could severely harm both teams' fight at the opposite ends of the Serie A table.
Lazio are currently three points behind leaders Juventus, while Genoa are in 18th place and two points from safety.
