Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray: 'Only ourselves to blame for defeat'

Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray says that his side's indiscipline was their downfall against Leeds United.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray has admitted that his side have only themselves to blame for their 2-1 defeat at home to Leeds United.

The Owls manager said that his team's indiscipline and tendency to concede free kicks was their downfall in the Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough.

"We gave far too many free kicks away and if you keep doing that, you will be punished," PA Sport quotes Gray as saying.

"That's what's happened and we only have ourselves to blame. They got a fortunate ricochet for the equaliser but they reacted the faster.

"It's disappointing because we had our noses in front but couldn't build on the Chris Maguire penalty."

The result leaves the Owls in 14th place in the Championship table.
