Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn: 'I have been isolated'

Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn admits that he has been left isolated by the exit of assistant boss Steve Thompson from Elland Road.

Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn has admitted that he has been left isolated at the club following the departure of assistant manager Steve Thompson.

The number two, who had been brought in by Redfearn in December, was removed from his post last week without any formal clarification from the Yorkshire club's hierarchy.

Redfearn has confirmed that he is yet to receive an explanation for the 50-year-old's exit from Elland Road.

"Whether I feel that [I've been isolated] or not, I definitely have because I had a number two and now I haven't," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"It's happened. It's not great, but in the short term, the short term being this game [against Blackburn] and the game on Monday, I've got to put the club first."

Leeds face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.
