Leeds United boss Neil Warnock describes Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield as "fatal" for his team's Championship playoff hopes.

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock has described Saturday's defeat to Huddersfield Town as "fatal" for his side's Championship playoff hopes.

The 2-1 loss at Elland Road has seen United slip seven points off sixth-placed Leicester City.

"With the points we should have had you can afford a defeat like Saturday," Warnock told the club's official website. "You can absorb that and move on.

"Saturday felt like a fatal loss because of the points situation but you just have to keep going. I thought the fans were good as well on Saturday, they didn't get on the players' backs."

Leeds resume their league duties on March 30 when they make the trip to Ipswich Town.
