Ipswich Town hold Leeds United to draw

Ipswich Town hold Leeds United to a 1-1 draw in the Championship.

Leeds United have been held to a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town at Elland Road in the Championship.

David McGoldrick opened the scoring for the visitors when his speculative long-range effort crept in just before the hour mark.

However, Leeds restored parity when they were awarded a penalty after Luke Chambers hauled down Cameron Stewart inside the area.

Ross McCormack, who had earlier missed a glorious chance shortly before half time, netted from 12 yards to even things up.

McCormack then had a dipping effort that was well saved from Dean Gerken in the Ipswich goal.
