Newcastle United have reportedly been told that they will have to come up with an offer of around £42m to sign AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori during this summer's transfer window.
The Englishman is believed to be on Newcastle's radar this summer, with the Magpies keen to boost their defence for the 2024-25 campaign.
According to Tuttosport, Milan are open to letting Tomori depart but would be looking for around £42m for a player who has another three years left to run on his contract.
The 26-year-old came through the youth system at Chelsea before making the move to Milan in 2021, and he has represented the Italian giants on 142 occasions in all competitions.
Tomori was again a key player for Milan during the 2023-24 campaign, making 35 appearances in all competitions, but he was overlooked for a spot in the England squad for Euro 2024.

Al-Nassr 'eye Diaby as Mane replacement'
Meanwhile, Al-Nassr are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa attacker Moussa Diaby this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, the Saudi Pro League outfit are willing to listen to offers for Sadio Mane ahead of next season, and Diaby has been identified as a possible replacement.
The report claims that Al-Nassr expressed an interest in signing the Frenchman from Bayer Leverkusen last year, but it was Villa that won the race for his signature.
Diaby enjoyed a successful first season for Unai Emery's side, scoring 10 goals and registering nine assists in 54 appearances in all competitions.
The 24-year-old, who contributed six goals and eight assists in 38 Premier League matches last term, has another four years left to run on his contract at Villa Park.

Roca 'closing in on permanent Betis move'
Elsewhere, Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca is allegedly in advanced discussions with Real Betis over a permanent switch to the La Liga outfit this summer.
Roca, 27, joined Leeds United from Bayern Munich in June 2022, and he made 32 appearances for the English club during their 2022-23 Premier League campaign.
The midfielder moved to Real Betis on loan last summer, though, and a productive campaign saw him contribute four goals and three assists in 37 appearances for the club.
The Spaniard has another two years left to run on his deal at Elland Road, but according to Football Insider, he is now closing in on a permanent move to Real Betis.
Roca is therefore expected to depart the English club having made 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and providing two assists in the process.
Leeds reached the 2023-24 Championship playoff final but suffered a 1-0 defeat to Southampton and will therefore once again operate in England's second tier next term.
