Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana could be set to return to the squad within this month as he is set to be in first-team training in 10 days time.

Wesley Fofana is set to return to action for Leicester City this month, according to Brendan Rodgers.

The Foxes defender has missed the entire season so far after suffering a broken leg and damage to his ankle ligament during the final pre-season friendly against Villarreal, but he could be back this month.

"He is doing terrific and he will look to join the squad the week beginning February 14, which is great news for us. He is working very hard with our medical team and sports science team," Rodgers told the press.

"He is on this final period now before he rejoins the main squad and then we will just assess it from there and see where he is at in that first week and then hopefully, somewhere in February, he will be close to playing."

Last season, Fofana made 28 appearances in the Premier League last season, being a focal point of the matchday squad throughout the campaign as they won the FA Cup.

Leicester City will be looking to retain that trophy this season, and they compete in the fourth round against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
