Wes Morgan: 'Leicester City proved doubters wrong'

Wes Morgan expresses his delight and claims that Leicester City proved their doubters wrong after securing their Premier League status with a draw at Sunderland.

Leicester City defender Wes Morgan expressed his delight after the Foxes retained their Premier League status with a goalless draw with Sunderland on Saturday.

The draw at the Stadium of Light was enough for Nigel Pearson's side to ensure that they are part of the elite pack once more next term, and Morgan feels that the whole squad proved a lot of doubters wrong.

"We're absolutely delighted," Morgan told Sky Sports News. "We heard the results coming through the crowd and they were cheering and that, and we knew we had to keep calm.

"A point is a great result for us today, and if you looked at it two months ago to where we are now and finally be safe, I'm absolutely delighted.

"A lot of people wrote us off, and I'm delighted for all the boys. We had a lot to prove and I feel we've proved a lot of people wrong. We've turned our fortunes around a bit and I just want to enjoy this moment."

Queens Park Rangers and Burnley have already been relegated, while Hull City currently occupy the final spot in the drop zone.
