Leicester City's Nigel Pearson charged by FA for using 'abusive' language at fan

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is charged by the FA for allegedly using 'abusive' words towards a fan during last week's defeat to Liverpool.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has been charged by the Football Association for allegedly using 'abusive' words in an exchange with a fan during his team's defeat to Liverpool last week.

The 51-year-old, who is under scrutiny following a 10-game winless run in the Premier League, got involved in a heated exchange with a fan during his side's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.

A statement from the FA said: "It is alleged that during the fixture Mr Pearson used abusive and/or insulting words towards a spectator. He has until 6pm on December 16, 2014 to respond to the charge."

Pearson was given the opportunity to apologise for his remarks in a press conference a few days later, but he refused to do so.
