Claude Puel: 'Adrien Silva can provide some extra quality'

Claude Puel is pleased to have Adrien Silva available to choose from after the Portuguese was given the green light to complete his move from Sporting Lisbon.

Claude Puel has confessed that Leicester City "lacked quality" during the first half of their meeting with Huddersfield Town, but is hopeful that Adrien Silva can now provide an attacking spark.

The Portugal international finally made his debut for the Foxes on Monday afternoon, coming off the bench for the final four minutes of the 3-0 victory at the King Power Stadium.

All three of the hosts' goals arrived in the second half after stepping things up a gear, and Puel now hopes to give Silva a run in the side, having been blocked from registering the 28-year-old until today due to the paperwork for his summer transfer going through moments after the deadline.

"It was very tough for him, to train and to make a lot of training sessions without playing with the team," he told BBC Sport. "He kept a good, positive attitude. It's a good thing to see him on the pitch and he can bring some good things for the team.

"It was a good game because we played a good team, with quality, structure and a strong defensive unit. It was not easy. After the end of the first half, perhaps it was not enough - we lacked quality.

"We came back in the second half with the same spirit to play football on the floor and with quality. It's a good thing for the team, because they took confidence after the game against Liverpool."

Leicester, previously without a win in four matches, are now four points off seventh-placed Burnley.
