Claudio Ranieri: 'Everything that Jamie Vardy does is gold'

Leicester City coach Claudio Ranieri talks up the form of frontman Jamie Vardy after his contribution to the club's 2-1 Premier League win away at Norwich City.

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has heaped praise on striker Jamie Vardy following his contribution to the club's Premier League victory over Norwich City.

Vardy opened the scoring against the Canaries on Saturday, before a second goal from Jeffrey Schlupp helped push the travelling Foxes to three points on the road.

"When I saw him on the ground I said: 'Oh my God it is a bad injury' because James never stays down - I asked the physio, but he was very stable and he continued to play," said Ranieri, according to BT Sport.

"He is in a great moment and the the strikers live for this kind of moment - now everything he does is gold.

"It is not only important scoring goals, his performance is important, how he and [Shinji] Okazaki pressed during all the match. This kind of pressing recharges their teammates behind them and that is important."

Leicester now hold fourth spot in the Premier League standings after eight games of the new season.
