Leicester boss Sven-Goran Eriksson believes that his side were worthy winners after they beat Watford 2-0.

Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson believes that his side deserved their 2-0 win against Watford on Wednesday evening.

Strikes from David Nugent and Jermaine Beckford, his first for the club since his summer move from Everton, have moved the Foxes up to ninth in the Championship table.

"I think we deserved it, we had a very good first half, a less good second half, we couldn't keep the ball as well as we did first half.

"But we created good chances in the first half and probably could have scored more goals."

The Swede also thinks that Beckford can go on to be one of the league's top scorers now he has got off the mark for his new club.

"Strikers live for goals, so it was important [he scored tonight] as I know he felt the pressure," he added.

"He came here and got injured and hadn't scored in the games he played before today. So it was very good that he scored.

"It's off his mind now. It's good for him and good for us. He has the ability to be one of the top scorers in the division."

Leicester's next Championship fixture is at home to Millwall on Saturday.
