Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson coy on Robert Huth future

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson remains coy on the possibility of signing Stoke City defender Robert Huth on a permanent deal.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has refused to reveal whether the club will try to sign Robert Huth on a permanent deal.

The defender, who is on loan from Stoke City, has played a key role in the Foxes' Premier League survival this season.

While admitting that the 30-year-old has had a "positive effect" at the King Power Stadium, Pearson is unsure what the future holds for Huth.

"There's always considerations to be made and with regard to Robert Huth, as I've already pointed out in previous press conferences, until the clubs have had dialogue I don't think it's right for me to be talking too much about that but clearly he has had a very positive effect on our season," he told Sky Sports News.

Pearson has also remained coy over the possibility of Esteban Cambiasso signing a new contract with the club.

The veteran Argentine midfielder has scored four goals in 32 appearances this season since arriving at Leicester on a one-year deal at the start of the campaign.

"With regards to Esteban, he's aware of how I think and what we want to do as a football club but these things sometimes take a bit of time and I'm sure he needs a bit of time to reflect as well so all these things will be addressed," Pearson added.

Leicester play their final game of the season on Sunday when they host Queens Park Rangers.
