Leyton Orient beat Yeovil Town to climb out of relegation zone

Leyton Orient climb out of the relegation zone by piling further misery on Yeovil Town with a 3-0 win at Huish Park.

Leyton Orient have climbed out of the League One relegation zone after beating bottom club Yeovil Town 3-0 at Huish Park.

It was the visitors who started the better of the two sides, and Orient came close to taking an early lead when Josh Wright fired over from Elliott Omozusi's cross.

Yeovil improved as the first half progressed, with James Hayter missing a great chance to put the hosts ahead when he headed straight at Gary Woods.

However, it was Orient who broke the deadlock when Bradley Pritchard delivered the perfect cross to allow Chris Dagnall to head past Jed Steer.

Some poor marking should have gifted Yeovil an equaliser early in the second half, but Stephen Arthurworrey failed to take advantage as he fired wide from a corner.

Orient quickly regained control again to double their advantage through Kevin Lisbie, who converted from close range after Steer made a fine save to deny Dean Cox.

Yeovil enjoyed another spell on top after falling further behind, but Orient defended stubbornly to limit the chances on offer.

Fabio Liverani's side wrapped up the win when Dean Cox scored his 50th goal for the club with an emphatic finish after being picked out by Dave Mooney.
