Moyes: Neutrals want Everton win

David Moyes believes that the neutral will be hoping for an Everton win in their FA Cup semi-final clash with Liverpool tomorrow because they prefer his side's method of 'building a club'.

David Moyes believes that "the neutral" will be hoping for an Everton win in their FA Cup semi-final clash with Liverpool tomorrow.

After the combined £57m acquisitions of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez in January 2011, the Reds spent a further £56m last summer.

During the same period, the Toffees spent less than £10m on new arrivals, while also selling star midfielder Mikel Arteta to Arsenal.

Moyes thinks that the impartial football supporter prefers his side's humble approach of squad-building and will therefore be backing them to succeed against their Merseyside rivals tomorrow lunchtime.

He said: "The neutral would want Everton to win.

"The neutrals look at Everton and see the way we have tried to build the club, tried to develop the team gives hope to many other clubs.

"It has been done with real hard graft. It has taken a real period of time - that's why we have not been in enough semi-finals and finals. It may not be the right way, but it's our way and they appreciate it."

Moyes has predicted that the game will be "magical".
