Diogo Jota 'facing two months on the sidelines'

Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota could miss the next two months of the season with a knee injury, according to a report.

Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota could reportedly miss the next two months of the season due to a knee issue.

The Portugal international picked up the injury in the latter stages of Wednesday's Champions League clash with FC Midtjylland, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Jota immediately emerged as a doubt for Sunday's Premier League game against Fulham, but according to Record, the situation is worse than first thought.

The report claims that the former Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker could be out until February with the knee problem, which would see him miss a host of key league matches for the Reds.

The 24-year-old has been in excellent form for Jurgen Klopp's side this season, scoring nine times in 17 appearances in all competitions, including five goals in nine Premier League outings.

Liverpool are currently missing the likes of Joe Gomez, Xherdan Shaqiri, James Milner, Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara through injury.
