Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Liverpool on Wednesday, February 17.

The January transfer window has now closed, leaving Liverpool to begin looking forward to the summer for their next round of recruitment.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Anfield.

Chelsea 'only Premier League club to have offered David Alaba contract'

Chelsea are reportedly the only Premier League club to have offered a contract to Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.

The Austrian international's current deal expires this summer and he is expected to leave the club, following the arrival of RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano in July.

90min reports that Real Madrid remain the favourites for Alaba's signature, although Chelsea are still interested in the 28-year-old and are the only English top-flight club at present to have tabled an offer.

Premier League champions Liverpool and Manchester City were understood to have previously been interested in Alaba, who is considering the possibility of playing in England, however both clubs made it clear to the player's camp that they have decided against a move for the defender.

Bayern are understood to want to keep the Austrian, although Alaba is now at the stage of his career where he wishes to seek a fresh challenge and would prefer to move to Spain.

Alaba, who has made over 400 appearances for the German giants since joining in 2009, has won nine Bundesliga titles as well as two Champions League triumphs.

Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe: 'Stupid to decide future on Barcelona win'

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has insisted that it would be "stupid" to make any decisions over his future based on Tuesday's historic 4-1 win over Barcelona at Camp Nou.

La Blaugrana drew first blood on the night as Lionel Messi converted from 12 yards, but Mauricio Pochettino's men soon turned the game on its head, and the unplayable Mbappe was central to their comeback.

The 22-year-old's hat-trick inspired PSG to a dominant victory on the Catalans' turf at a time where he continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid or Liverpool, but he has affirmed that he remains "happy" at PSG.

Speaking to RMC Sport after the game, the World Cup-winning Frenchman said: "It would be stupid to decide my future on a single match.

"The truth is that it is about reflecting for the long term. I have always said that I am happy here. This sort of match makes me even happier."

Mbappe became just the third player ever to hit a hat-trick against Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday, and he already boasts 21 goals for the campaign in all competitions.
