Carlo Ancelotti not seeking return to management until next season

Former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says that he wants to return to management next season, effectively ruling himself out of the running for the Liverpool job.

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he does not intend to return to management until next season.

The former Real Madrid boss was named as a candidate for the vacant Liverpool job, but has now admitted that he is not ready to end his hiatus.

"I enjoy my time now but, of course, I want to come back to manage - to work - because it is my passion," Ancelotti told PA Sport.

"I want to take my time to rest, but next season I am ready."

Jurgen Klopp is the frontrunner to succeed Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool, with the latest reports suggesting that negotiations are on course to be completed by the end of the week.

Ancelotti parted company with Real in May.
