New Liverpool signing Sebastian Coates has said that compatriot Luis Suarez played a key role in his decision to move to Anfield.
The Uruguayan defender finalised a move to the Reds on Tuesday from Nacional for an undisclosed fee.
"Luis told me a lot about Liverpool - but about the fans more than anything else," Coates told the club's website.
"He told me how passionate they are about the club and how supportive they are.
"I saw that myself on Saturday when the fans really got behind their side against Bolton and that was great to see."
Both players were part of Uruguay's Copa America-winning side this summer.
