Kenny Dalglish feels that Liverpool should deal better with their frustration and disappointment.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has insisted that his players should deal with their frustrations better after a bad-tempered 2-0 defeat at Newcastle United on Sunday.

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina was sent off for a head-butt on James Perch and Andy Carroll aimed abuse at Dalglish after being substituted as a Papiss Cisse brace gave the home side the win.

Dalglish said: "We don't have a problem with people showing their desperation or disappointment or frustration, but we need to channel it better than we have done.

"We started well enough but obviously, it ended up with a lot of frustration and disappointment. The frustration and disappointment resulted in the actions Pepe took when he got a deserved red card.

"Also when Andy [Carroll] came off and went up the tunnel, he was disappointed with the way the game was going, not necessarily for himself, but for the team, and the frustration took him up into the dressing room."

Liverpool sit eighth in the table and are 16 points adrift of a Champions League spot.
