Robbie Fowler: 'Christian Benteke ticks all boxes for Liverpool'

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler believes that Christian Benteke will thrive at Anfield.

Robbie Fowler has claimed that Christian Benteke should be a success at former club Liverpool.

The Belgian striker joined the Reds from Aston Villa on Wednesday for a fee of around £32.5m.

Jamie Carragher has questioned whether the 24-year-old will thrive at Anfield, but Fowler is confident that Benteke will take Anfield by storm.

"He's strong, he can hold a ball up, he's quick, he's mobile, has two good feet," the former striker is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "So we are expecting a few goals and we are expecting for him to bring other players into the game. He probably ticks every box, if I'm being honest. I am excited about him."

Benteke scored 15 goals in 34 games for Aston Villa last season.
