Brendan Rodgers not scared to change defence

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says that he is not afraid to change his defensive personnel if he feels it is warranted.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he is not afraid to change his defence if he feels it is necessary.

The Reds boss was criticised in some sections for dropping Daniel Agger for Sunday's 3-1 defeat to Hull City in favour of Kolo Toure.

The Northern Irishman has also opted to use Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho in the centre-back positions this season, and he said that he is more than willing to alter the backline if he feels it is warranted.

"There has been lots of change and some of that has been down to me, knowing every game is an absolute cup final for us," Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo.

"If I feel I need to change it going into a game to get a result then I will do.

"But of course I also need to look at it from the coaching perspective as well. That little run in the team might breed the consistency even though we have had to change a number of positions."

The Reds host Norwich City on Wednesday.
