Brendan Rodgers: Tottenham Hotspur win shows "growth" at Liverpool

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that the 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur is evidence of "growth" at the club this season.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes that his side's 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday is evidence of "growth" of the club.

The victory was the first time the Reds have beaten a side in the top four in the Premier League this season, and Rodgers feels that the result is proof that his team are beginning to progress.

"All season people have spoken about us not beating anyone from the top 10, then it was the top eight and top six and top four," Rodgers told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"Today was a stringent test and they came through it. We know where we want to be eventually but this is another marker for us in terms of our growth.

"For us to get the three points and play like we did, and more importantly show the character, was fantastic."

The Reds travel to Southampton next Saturday.
