Brendan Rodgers: 'We don't feel pressure'

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers insists that his side are not feeling the pressure of a title run-in having climbed to the top of the table this afternoon.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that his side do not feel the pressure of being title contenders following their eighth consecutive victory.

The Reds cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield this afternoon, a result that lifted them to the top of the table, two points clear of second-placed Chelsea.

With a first league title for 24 years now in their own hands, questions have been raised as to whether Liverpool will be able to handle the pressure of the run-in, but Rodgers was not concerned about his side's ability to deal with that.

"I enjoy watching them every day and today to take into the pressure situation and perform like did from first whistle was an immense performance," Rodgers told Sky Sports News.

"I'm very proud of the team. We don't feel [the pressure]. We're very confident with how we play. You see the confidence in how the players pass the ball and the movement and the intensity and aggression in their play to know that they are very calm and focused on the job at hand. It was a wonderful team performance."

Liverpool are the division's leading scorers this season, with today's four-goal haul taking their overall tally for the campaign to 88.
