Brendan Rodgers praises Liverpool

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers praises his side following Sunday's 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has hailed his side following Sunday's 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

The result moved the Reds into first position in the Premier League table, two points ahead of second-place Chelsea with six games remaining.

"To perform like we did from the first minute was immense. We are very confident with how we play. Tottenham have some outstanding players and I hope Tim [Sherwood] gets time to put his ideas in place," he told reporters following the match.

"We have won eight games in a row and we will enjoy that. It's just about going back to work next week and we have a tough game against West Ham next.

"The dream is for our supporters, they want to win the title. It has been a long time but it's not in my thinking. We just need to prepare and do well and if we do that, we will win games."

Liverpool have won 14 of their 16 home league games this season.
