The Reds forward is said to be unhappy and homesick on Merseyside, just months after securing a bargain switch to England from Juventus in the summer.
Chiesa has failed to impress on the pitch at Liverpool, despite being a key part of the Italy side who beat Gareth Southgate's Three Lions to the Euro 2020 crown.
The Italian has played just four matches across all competitions for Arne Slot's side, totalling just 18 minutes of Premier League action to date.
Chiesa made the Liverpool bench for the Boxing Day bout at home to Leicester City but was absent from the party which enjoyed a 5-0 battering of West Ham United to conclude 2024.

Liverpool to hold crunch talks with Chiesa representatives?
According to The Mirror, Liverpool are preparing to take the next step in deciding the future of out-of-favour star Chiesa during the January transfer window.
The report claims that the Reds are set to meet with the agent of the winger to discuss the possibility of a loan move away before the February 3 deadline.
With the player supposedly ready to depart back to Italy, a number of elite clubs from Chiesa's homeland are waiting for the chance to snatch his services.
It is understood that both AC Milan and Inter Milan are keen on signing the 27-year-old on a temporary deal for the remainder of the term.
There have also been reports that link Chiesa to Roma, Napoli and Atalanta BC, with the latter of that trio eyeing up the permanent acquisition of the attacker.

Where has it gone wrong for Chiesa?
The case of Chiesa strengthens the argument that some players are just not suited to the Premier League, or perhaps that they are unable to handle its stresses.
Having never played football outside of Italy before, there was always a chance that the 27-year-old would struggle to adapt to life away from family.
Chiesa has not been helped by the extreme competition for minutes in a Liverpool side who are currently cruising towards the Premier League title.
