Bayern Munich have contacted Roberto Firmino's representatives to discuss a potential summer move for the Liverpool forward, according to transfer expert Ian McGarry.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Bayern were lining up a £75m offer for Firmino, having identified the Brazil international as a target for the upcoming transfer window.
McGarry has claimed that the Bundesliga champions have now made contact with Firmino's camp to determine whether the 28-year-old would be interested in a move to Munich.
"We have accurately and consistently reported that [Timo] Werner will join Liverpool we believe this summer," McCarry told the Transfer Window Podcast.
"I cannot report anything that I think changes that, although interestingly news is that Roberto Firmino's representatives have been contacted by Bayern Munich in the last 10 days with regards to 'would he be willing to leave Anfield?
"Would he be interested in a return to the Bundesliga? And would he be interested in becoming part of Bayern's rebuild? Which of course they have been planning now since the beginning of last season. Firmino may fit in very well as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski who may well move on, potentially to MLS in the summer."
Firmino, who has a contract at Anfield until the summer of 2023, has scored 10 times and contributed 12 assists in 39 appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side this season.
