Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk president Ihor Kolomoyskyi has revealed that they are in negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur over the transfer of Yevhen Konoplyanka.
Liverpool came close to signing the 24-year-old in January, when Spurs were also believed to be interested.
The Reds failed to secure a deal, though, and Tottenham have now taken strides to try to snare the winger from under Liverpool's noses, with Dnipro confirming that talks are ongoing.
Kolomoyskyi also advised Konoplyanka that Spurs would be a better next destination than Liverpool.
"I have contact with the Tottenham president. I am talking with him," Kolomoysky told Ukrainian TV channel '2+2'. "He is interested in Konoplyanka. We are in the stage of negotiations and are perhaps close to signing a contract if Yehven agrees.
"I would choose Tottenham - London - not Liverpool. There are matches only once or twice a week, and at other times he will still need somewhere to live. I believe London life is preferable to Liverpool."
Konoplyanka scored in Dnpiro's 1-0 Europa League last-32 first-leg win against Spurs, before Tim Sherwood's side overcame the deficit to progress to the next round of the competition.
