Jose Enrique determined to prove worth to Liverpool

Jose Enrique insists that he has no intention of being forced out of Liverpool this summer.

Jose Enrique has claimed that he has no intention of being forced out of Liverpool after falling further down the pecking order at the club.

The 29-year-old defender has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Anfield after being left out of the first-team's squad preparations for the new campaign.

Despite being behind Joe Gomez and Alberto Moreno in the battle to be the side's first-choice left-back, the Spaniard insists that he wants to fight for his place.

"I'm in a difficult position," he old reporters. "The club have alienated [Mario] Balotelli, [Fabio] Borini and me.

"I have a year left on my contract and I imagine the club will want to sell, but I still want to stay and fight as I always have.

"But if a good offer came with more years of contract and more chance to play, I'd look at it."

Enrique has just one year remaining on his current deal.
