Jurgen Klopp: 'Joe Allen deserves future at Liverpool'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claims that Joe Allen "deserves a future" at Anfield, but contract talks have not yet been opened.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that Joe Allen "deserves a future" at Anfield, but contract talks have not yet begun.

The midfielder has impressed on the pitch when called upon in recent games, but has struggled to hold down a first-team spot.

There have been suggestions that Allen will consider leaving the club in the summer, with former club Swansea City thought to be interested.

"He deserves a future here, of course," The Mirror quotes Allen as saying. "He is in brilliant shape. We will see what happens but for me it is not the time to talk about his contract now."

The Wales international joined Liverpool in 2012.
