Liverpool's owners have reportedly started considering whether to sack Brendan Rodgers following a below-par start to the season.
After narrowly missing out last season's Premier League crown, the Reds have struggled to replicate that form and find themselves 11th in the table and in danger of exiting the Champions League at the group stages.
According to Tuttomercato, Liverpool American owners Fenway Sports Group have grown unhappy with the performance of the team under Rodgers's stewardship and may decide to relieve him of his duties.
While no decision is said to have been made by those in the Anfield boardroom as yet, it is rumoured that the former Swansea City coach's future "hangs in the balance".
It is also understood that FSG may move shortly, depending on how Liverpool fare in their upcoming games.
The Reds have won just four of their 11 Premier League fixtures so far this season.
