Liverpool, Barcelona agree £132m fee for Philippe Coutinho?

Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho is reportedly on his way to Barcelona in a £132m deal that will be paid off in instalments.

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Liverpool for the January signing of midfield playmaker Philippe Coutinho, according to a report.

The Catalan giants are said to have shaken hands on a £132m deal, making the Brazil international the second-most expensive player of all time.

Having missed out on Coutinho with three offers in August, Barca made no secret that they intended to return for one of the Premier League's top performers once the transfer window reopened.

Spanish newspaper Sport suggests that the long-running saga is now close to ending, with Barca happy to pay off the sum in instalments.

Coutinho is rumoured to have been offered wages of £204,000 a week, lasting until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
