Liverpool are reportedly set to earn £18m as Philippe Coutinho completes his loan move from Barcelona to Bayern Munich.

Liverpool could reportedly be set to earn £18m from the deal to loan Philippe Coutinho to Bayern Munich from Barcelona.

An agreement has been reached that will see the Brazilian midfielder leave Barcelona and spend a season on loan with the reigning Bundesliga champions for a fee of £18m - a sum that will be paid directly to his former club Liverpool.

The Catalan giants have yet to pay the entirety of Coutinho's £142m fee to the Reds following his signing in January 2018 and several clauses in the deal have seen Jurgen Klopp's side earn an additional sum, according to The Mirror.

Bayern will pay the Brazilian's wages for the season and will then have the option to purchase him outright for €120m (£109.6m) at the end of the campaign.

A two-year loan deal - like the one that brought James Rodriguez to Munich from Real Madrid - was considered, but Bayern eventually opted for a shorter loan and will decide if he is a worthwhile purchase based on his performances this term.

Coutinho was offered to a number of Premier League sides before the English window for buying players closed, but no club was interested in the midfielder's services.
