Wigan Athletic midfielder Mohamed Diame is reportedly on the brink of a Bosman transfer to Liverpool this summer.
The 24-year-old is allowed to leave the DW Stadium when his contract expires on June 30 and Liverpool appear to be frontrunners for his signature.
Reports in the media have suggested that Diame, who is also believed to be wanted by Premier League rivals Everton and Newcastle United, will see his wages doubled to around £60,000 per week at Anfield.
Kenny Dalglish is reportedly looking to sign Diame to add depth to his squad and compete for a first-team place with the likes of Jay Spearing and Lucas.
Roberto Martinez had hoped to keep Diame at the club after guaranteeing Premier League football for next season, but he admitted on Friday that the player will leave in the summer.
Diame signed for Wigan from Spanish side Rayo Vallecano in 2009.
