Dave Whelan confident Victor Moses will stay put for another season

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan thinks that Victor Moses still has a lot to learn and will remain with the Latics in order to improve.

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan believes that Victor Moses will opt to stay with the Latics, despite constant speculation linking the forward with a move away from the club.

The 21-year-old is believed to have attracted interest from a number of Premier League outfits following an impressive season under Roberto Martinez.

Despite the player's agent Tony Finnigan claiming that the Nigeria international is likely to leave the DW Stadium in the summer, Whelan thinks otherwise.

"I still think that Victor will stay with us another 12 months and then maybe one of the big clubs will come in for him if he keeps developing in the way that he has done while he has been with us," Whelan told Goal.com.

"Victor is coming along very nicely but he is still relatively young in football terms and I think that he has still got a lot to learn.

"Roberto is responsible for bringing that lad on and he is doing a great job in that respect and he will make sure that Victor goes on to fulfil his tremendous potential."

Liverpool, Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with moves for Moses.
