Liverpool are reportedly lining up a swap deal with AC Milan involving Mario Balotelli and Diego Lopez.
Italy striker Balotelli is currently back on loan to the Rossoneri, having failed to impress at Anfield last season following his £16m move from them in the summer of 2014.
Milan goalkeeper Lopez is currently sidelined with an injury but has found his place taken by 16-year-old rookie Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has put in a string of impressive displays.
It has been suggested that the 34-year-old will struggle to win back his place in the side from the young Italian once he is back to full fitness and he is considering a move away as a result.
According to Calciomercato, Liverpool have been alerted by Lopez's situation at San Siro, and manager Jurgen Klopp will allow Balotelli to be a makeweight in a January deal for the Spaniard.
Lopez joined Milan in August 2014 for an undisclosed fee and has made 37 appearances for the Serie A side.
