Liverpool may reportedly entertain offers of £60m for Mohamed Salah this summer as they aim to avoid losing the 30-year-old on a free transfer in 2023.

Liverpool are reportedly willing to sanction Mohamed Salah's exit for a fee of £60m in the current transfer window.

The 30-year-old has been locked in negotiations over a contract renewal with the Reds for months, but discussions between the two parties are yet to lead to a positive solution.

As things stand, Salah is due to become a free agent in 12 months' time, and he will be able to walk out of the door for nothing if fresh terms cannot be agreed.

Prior to the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, Salah affirmed that he would remain at Anfield for the 2022-23 season, telling reporters: "I am staying next season for sure."

However, Liverpool are desperate to avoid losing the Egypt international on a free transfer at the end of next season, and as a result, Salah could potentially still leave this summer.

According to The Sun, Liverpool are prepared to entertain offers of £60m for the PFA Player of the Year, although the Reds' owners FSG will not allow Salah to join a direct Premier League rival.

The former Chelsea and Roma man supposedly earns in the region of £240,000 per week on Merseyside, and he is rumoured to be holding out for a mammoth £400k per week deal to commit to fresh terms.

With Liverpool not prepared to shatter their wage structure to bend to Salah's demands, the attacker continues to be linked with an exit after previously refusing to rule out a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona.

The Catalans' financial difficulties will likely rule them out of the running to sign Salah this summer, but Real Madrid are still believed to be keeping a close eye on the situation.

Salah scooped a Golden Boot and Playmaker award double last season with 23 goals and 14 assists in 35 Premier League matches, registering 31 goals and 16 assists in 51 appearances across all tournaments in total.

The Egyptian has now amassed 156 goals and 63 assists in 254 games for the club in total, winning the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup at Anfield.

Liverpool have already waved goodbye to a pair of attackers this summer, with Divock Origi leaving as a free agent and set to join AC Milan, while Sadio Mane - whose contract was also up in 2023 - headed for Bayern Munich in a £35m deal.

Jurgen Klopp has boosted his attacking options with the signings of Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho, who are set to compete with the likes of Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino and Harvey Elliott for starts next term.

The out-of-favour Takumi Minamino is widely expected to depart, though, and Monaco are believed to have agreed a £15.5m deal to sign the 27-year-old ahead of the 2022-23 season.

The signings of Nunez, Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay could represent Liverpool's only summer incomings in the current window, with the Reds reportedly not interested in signing Christian Pulisic as a replacement for Mane.
