Loris Karius 'completes Besiktas move'

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius seemingly completes his move to Besiktas as the Turkish outfit change their Twitter header to a picture of the German in their shirt.

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has seemingly completed his move to Besiktas, with the Turkish outfit changing their Twitter header to a photo of the German wearing their kit.

Official confirmation has not yet arrived from either club, but Besiktas's social media activity - which includes the hashtag #cometobesiktas - appears to suggest that the deal has now been finalised.

Besiktas agreed terms with Liverpool over the transfer on Monday, resulting in the shot-stopper being withdrawn from their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace that evening, but the transfer was delayed by a four-day public holiday in Turkey.

The deal is understood to see Karius join Besiktas on an initial two-year loan deal for a fee of £2.25m, with the obligation to make the move permanent for a further £7.25m should certain performance criteria be met.

Liverpool have also included a 20% release clause in the contract should it become permanent, which is expected to happen if Karius makes a certain number of appearances and Besiktas qualify for Europe.

Karius made 49 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, but the abiding memory of his time at the club will be his two costly errors in last season's Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
