Manchester City 'put off by Mbappe's £600k-a-week demands'

Manchester City decide against making a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe due to his staggering £600k-a-week salary demands, according to a report.

Manchester City have reportedly decided against making a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe due to his mammoth £600k-a-week wage demands.

The 22-year-old's contract situation at the Parc des Princes remains unresolved, with his existing deal due to run out in 2022, although sporting director Leonardo has affirmed that a decision will be made soon.

However, with Mbappe's future still shrouded in uncertainty, European heavyweights such as Man City, Real Madrid and Liverpool are being tipped to make an audacious swoop for the World Cup-winning Frenchman.

According to The Athletic, City will prioritise a new striker as Sergio Aguero looks increasingly likely to leave, but they will not pursue Mbappe.

The report claims that Mbappe expects to pocket £600k per week at any potential new club - a figure that even a financial powerhouse such as Man City are unwilling to fork out in the current climate.

As a result, Pep Guardiola's side will supposedly prioritise a move for Borussia Dortmund starlet Erling Braut Haaland instead.
