AC Milan, Inter Milan interested in Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho?

AC Milan and Inter Milan are ready to battle it out for out-of-favour Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho, according to a report.

Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho could be offered a route out of the club in January, as both AC Milan and Inter Milan are reportedly interested in his services.

The France international has been frozen out by the Reds since falling out with manager Jurgen Klopp during the pre-season tour of the United States, failing to make a single appearance this term in any competition.

Sakho turned down a move away from Anfield on deadline day in the summer, hoping that he could force his way back into Klopp's plans, but his lack of playing time is said to have left him in no doubt that he now has no future on Merseyside.

West Bromwich Albion are understood to have withdrawn their interest in the centre-back but, according to Calcio Mercato, AC and Inter could make an approach next month.

Both sides are said to be looking to add to their respective backlines, with Sakho seen as one of the likely candidates to come in if they can tempt him into making a switch to Serie A and not hold out for a transfer elsewhere.

Sakho, who has not featured for Liverpool since having his drugs ban at the tail end of last season overturned, is also thought to be a target for Turkish side Besiktas.
