Mohamed Salah 'wants £500k-a-week contract at Liverpool'

Mohamed Salah wants a salary of £500,000 a week to sign a new contract at Liverpool, according to a report.

Mohamed Salah has reportedly informed Liverpool that he wants his wage packet increased to £500,000 a week in order to sign a new contract at Anfield.

The 29-year-old has scored 127 goals and registered 49 assists in 206 appearances for Liverpool since making the move from Roma in July 2017.

Salah's existing deal at Anfield is due to expire in June 2023, though, and his future with Jurgen Klopp's side has been called into doubt amid reported interest from Spain.

According to The Mirror, the Egypt international has told the Reds that he wants his wages increased from around £200,000 a week to £500,000 a week in order to sign a fresh deal.

The report, though, claims that Salah will more than likely have to lower his demands in order to pen an extension, as Liverpool are not prepared to shatter their wage structure.

The Egyptian has been in impressive form at club level this term, finding the back of the net on two occasions in three appearances, in addition to contributing two assists.
