Teenage midfielder Pedri, who has recently been linked with Liverpool, is reportedly determined to sign a new contract with Barcelona.

Teenage midfielder Pedri will reportedly ignore interest from elsewhere to sign a new contract at Barcelona.

The 18-year-old only arrived at Camp Nou from Las Palmas last summer but was a key player for the Catalan giants during the 2020-21 campaign, making 52 appearances in all competitions, contributing four goals and six assists in the process.

Pedri then represented Spain at Euro 2020 and the Tokyo Olympics before returning to Barcelona, and he has already made three appearances at club level this term.

The Spaniard's current deal at Camp Nou is due to expire next summer, although Ronald Koeman's side can activate a two-year option until June 2024.

A recent report claimed that Liverpool were planning to launch an £88m bid for the youngster, with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp viewing him as the ideal player to replace Georginio Wijnaldum at Anfield.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Pedri has no interest in leaving Barcelona and is determined to sign a new contract with the La Liga outfit as soon as possible.

The midfielder is currently on the sidelines with a thigh problem and will miss Monday's La Liga clash against Granada.
