Pepe Reina yet to speak to Brendan Rodgers about Liverpool future

Pepe Reina admits that he is yet to speak to Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers about his future.

Pepe Reina has admitted that he remains unclear over his Liverpool future as he is yet to speak to manager Brendan Rodgers on the matter.

The Spain international spent last season on loan at Napoli, but has revealed that he will return to Merseyside for pre-season as he has two years remaining on his contract.

Despite planning to return to Anfield, Reina has suggested that he is looking for a move away as Simon Mignolet currently occupies the number one spot.

"I've not spoken to Rodgers and I don't know what they think but I have a contract and in the end that is what counts," ESPN quotes Reina as saying.

"I have to join up with Liverpool and there's nothing more I can do. I don't know about my future. I want to be calm about it and there are people who are working on that. I have two years left on my Liverpool contract and the situation is the same as a month ago."

The 31-year-old was part of the Spain squad who failed to qualify for the knockout rounds at the World Cup in Brazil.
