Liverpool have reportedly held talks with the representatives of Victor Valdes amid speculation that the goalkeeper could be on his way to Anfield.
The former Barcelona player is a free agent after coming to the end of his contract at the Catalan club during the summer, and has been linked with a move to Brendan Rodgers's side.
According to The Express, the club have held talks with the 31-year-old, and he is now set to undergo a trial with the team to prove his fitness before securing a contract.
Current first-choice goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has come under scrutiny in recent weeks, having conceding nine goals in the first six matches of the season and kept just one clean sheet in the league.
