Tottenham Hotspur hope to beat Liverpool to the signature of 18-goal Blackpool winger Thomas Ince in the summer and are understood to be preparing a £6.5m bid.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly try to pip Liverpool to the signature of prolific Blackpool winger Thomas Ince by launching a £6.5m summer bid.

The England Under-21 international left Anfield under the Kenny Dalglish regime to join the Tangerines, but current Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has been tracking him since taking over on Merseyside in 2012.

Liverpool attempted to re-sign Ince in January but failed to meet Blackpool's valuation of the player, who was also interesting to Swansea City in the winter transfer window.

According to The Mirror, Spurs have joined the 21-year-old's list of admirers, with boss Andre Villas-Boas looking to recruit competition for the injury-plagued Aaron Lennon.

Ince has netted 18 goals in 43 Championship appearances this season.
