Watford have moved to deny reports that they are interested in signing Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli.
The Italian striker is surplus to requirements at Anfield and is free to find a new club after a disappointing debut campaign with the Reds last term.
Balotelli has been linked with a return to his homeland through the likes of Bologna and Sampdoria, but newly-promoted Watford have also been credited with an interest.
However, the Watford Observer have reported that the Hornets have no interest in pursuing a deal for the former Manchester City striker and will not be making a move during the remainder of the transfer window.
Balotelli was absent from the Liverpool squad that beat Bournemouth 1-0 at Anfield on Monday.
